"The Ectasy of Gold"

Films: Dead Mine (2012)

Alias: None

Type: Man-Made

Location: Underground/Haunted Home

Height/Weight: That of average humans.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: The experiments conducted during the second World War were positively dreadful on the German side. Nothing could compare to the mindless cruelty that was on display. But what about other ventures into mad science back in the day? They could be worse...

History: Somewhere in a hidden lab below the Tojo Una-Una Regency, the Japanese were experimenting on their own with Yamashita's gold. As it turned out, the gold had properties that, when eaten, turns folks immortal. Unfortunately, it also had the side-effect of draining one's humanity and leaving them a murderous shell. Decades later, some explorers and pirates would accidentally stumble upon this place, and come face-to-face with the terrors left behind.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Everyone who entered the place is killed one way or another. The immortals clad in samurai armor make it to the surface, though their purpose remains unclear...

Powers/Abilities: Impervious to pain and said to live forever, they can also infect others with their affliction.

Weakness: Heavy artillery.

Scariness Factor: 4-Some of the first subjects we see are barely holding onto their humanity, and act like savage animals. Then we see that some are looking like the shoguns of old, and have not lost an ounce of their strength. Fear the pasty-faced immortals, for a fight with them is a fool's errand.

Trivia: -Yamashita's gold is a treasure said to be in Southeast Asia. It is said to be the loot stolen by Japanese WWII general Tomoyuki Yamashita, or as he was sometimes known as, the Tiger of Malaya. To this day, no treasure hunter has found it.

-All of the filming was done on Batam Island.
